This Cypress House wedding was such a beautiful and classic wedding celebration. From the soft neutrals to the gold and white accents, Grace and Matthew’s wedding had a timeless aesthetic.
When I met them, Grace and Matthew had just moved to Philadelphia so Grace could start medical school, and they were excited to begin this new chapter in their lives. I was thrilled when they suggested doing their engagement session in Philadelphia to capture the urban magic.
The city’s vibrant energy and stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop for their photos, and their joy and excitement were evident in every shot. Grace’s enthusiasm and Matthew’s unwavering support were a testament to their strong bond, and we ended the day excited to reunite at the Cypress House in New Columbia.
The Perfect Venue: The Cypress House
The Cypress House is absolutely enchanting, offering a serene and elegant setting for a classic wedding. I just love the poolside backdrop for wedding photos, with the fountain arcs providing so many opportunities for exciting perspectives.
A summertime wedding on the grounds is perfect. The warm sun, lush greenery, and blooming flowers create an idyllic setting for a celebration of love. On Grace and Matthew’s wedding day, the weather was perfect, with clear skies and a gentle breeze that added a touch of romance to the air. The gardens were in full bloom, providing a vibrant and colorful backdrop for the ceremony and reception.
Wedding Day Dreams
Grace had a heartfelt vision for their wedding day, focusing on love and sharing the moment with their closest friends and family. They hoped their photos would capture their love for each other and the deep bonds they shared with family and friends.
The couple wanted every guest to see their undeniable connection as soul mates, and the moment both she and Matthew anticipated the most was making eye contact for the first time as she walked down the aisle.
A Garden Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the lush gardens of the Cypress House. Guests were seated around a raised garden deck, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere. It was a beautiful scene as Grace walked down the aisle surrounded by soft florals and towering trees.
Elegant Florals
Speaking of the wedding florals, they were a perfect reflection of Grace and Matthew’s vision. The neutral color palette of green, light pink, cream, and beige, combined with lots of organic greenery, created such an elegant look. The arrangements featured a delightful mix of classic flowers and interesting textures, adding to the overall beauty of the day. From the bouquets to the ceremony arch, every floral detail was thoughtfully designed to complement the natural surroundings and enhance the romantic feel of the wedding.
A Tented Reception
After the ceremony, guests moved to a tented reception area perfect for a light, breezy garden party. Twinkling cafe lights strung overhead in the tent cast a soft, magical glow over the festivities. Tables were decorated with neutral blooms in white vases, dinnerware with gold accents, and hurricanes with taper candles, creating an inviting atmosphere. The elegant decor perfectly captured the classic and romantic feel of the day, making the reception a truly beautiful celebration.
Late-Night Party and Ice Cream Bar
As the evening progressed, Grace surprised everyone by changing into a fun and flirty dress for the late-night party. This playful touch added an element of fun to the evening, and guests were delighted by the addition of an ice cream bar. It was a perfect way to end the night, with everyone enjoying sweet treats and dancing under the stars.
Capturing Grace and Matthew’s wedding was an absolute joy. Their vision of a classic, love-filled Cypress House wedding came to life in the most beautiful way, creating a day that was as memorable as it was magical. Every detail was exceptional, from the lush gardens to the elegant tented reception. Thank you, Grace and Matthew, for allowing me to be a part of your gorgeous celebration!
