Stylish Wedding at Excelsior | Lancaster, PA

Laura and Clint’s stylish wedding at Excelsior in Lancaster wasn’t just an event; it was a day that unfolded like a modern-day fairy tale for two people who couldn’t deserve it more.

Excelsior, known for its breathtaking architecture and historic allure, set the stage for a celebration that seamlessly wove together “minimalist industrial” and “whimsical romance” and it remains one of my favorite places to capture weddings.

If you haven’t been, Excelsior isn’t your run-of-the-mill wedding venue – think old-world charm meets modern-day swank. This place has corners and crannies that could tell stories for days, and this past September, it got a whole new tale to tell.

First Meetings

But let’s rewind a bit. I first got to know Laura and Clint during an engagement shoot at their Baltimore pad. Beginning with a rooftop session with the cityscape playing backdrop, we then hit the streets of beautiful Fells Points.

We got to know each other as we wound through the streets, capturing shots by the water that were less about “say cheese” and more about “just be you.” Getting to know my couples and their preferences always makes their wedding day that much better!

Wedding Details

Fast forward to the big day. Excelsior was buzzing with nearly 190 guests, each seemingly competing for the title of ‘most excited attendee.’ The venue is a labyrinth of awesome spaces – each turn brings a new vibe, from ‘majestic ballroom’ to ‘secret garden nook.’

I loved that Laura and Clint’s preference for their wedding photos was candid shots over posed portraits. They wanted the real deal: laughter mid-joke, impromptu dance-offs, grandma getting down on the dance floor – the works. As a photographer, that’s like being handed a golden ticket.

The ceremony was like watching a live fairytale unfold. When Laura and Clint exchanged their vows, it wasn’t just words; it was like they were high-fiving with promises. Their glances weren’t just loving stares; they were silent conversations. It’s these moments, those ‘I got you’ looks, that really tell the story.

A Reception Extrvaganza

Then came the reception. Imagine moving from a grand hall with ceilings that don’t quit to a cozy spot with just the right amount of disco ball sparkles. The air was thick with stories, laughter, and it all got topped off with espresso martinis. Can’t go wrong with that!

As the evening rolled on, the vibe shifted from ‘elegant gala’ to ‘best house party ever.’ The dance floor was never empty – from classic moves to those that have no name, it was a sight. And let’s not forget the food – think ‘five-star fancy’ meets ‘comfort food heaven.’

Laura looked absolutely stunning in her dress – it was chic, elegant, and had that ‘wow’ factor while being simple. Clint, in his suit, nailed the ‘dashing groom’ look. He had this effortless cool vibe that matched Laura’s sparkle perfectly. Seeing them together, they were genuinely having the time of their lives, looking like the best versions of themselves.

Capturing the day was like being on a joyful rollercoaster – so many big emotions. It was about snagging those unscripted moments: a laugh here, a tear there, and a whole lot of dancing everywhere.

A Day to Remember

Laura and Clint’s wedding was less like a traditional celebration and more like a festival of love. There was laughter, some hootin’ and hollerin’, a few happy tears, and everything you need to make a wedding day a memory that will live rent-free in a corner of your mind. It was a day where every hug felt warmer, every smile brighter, and every dance step a little more spirited.

In the end, what set this wedding day apart wasn’t just the setting or the fancy outfits. It was the people, the energy, and those spontaneous moments that you can’t plan for. It was about capturing the spirit of two people who are ridiculously in love and aren’t afraid to show it.

So, hats off to Laura and Clint for throwing a wedding that was as fun as it was heartfelt. In the world of weddings, this one was a breath of fresh Lancaster air – cool, refreshing, and hitting all the right notes. Congratulations, you two. Here’s to a lifetime of laughter, love, and maybe a few more rooftop photo sessions.
